~~ GET THE REAL DEAL RIGHT HERE! ORIGINAL 1970'S (AMERICAN MADE) FACTORY CADILLAC PARTS~~ ~~ HAVE A SET TO TRADE IN? MESSAGE ME! ~~ WHEEL COVER SET RATING CONDITION : Grade A levels= Pretty Good (A--), Very Good Condition (A-) / Near Excellent (A/A-), Excellent (A) . Grade B levels= "Driver grade" -- good/presentable shape (B+, B++), average condition/fair condition (B). The "B" Grades level wheel covers will have more extensive & visible damage. WHEEL COVER SET GRADE LEVEL : "A" (Excellent) ORIGINAL YEAR OF USE: 1977-78 (Fits all 1965-92 Cadillac 15" RWD rims). BROWN COLOR NOTES: Cadillac only used Demitasse Brown paint during the 1977 & 1978 model years (though there were several metallic dark brown variations across the 1970's). This "body matching" wheel cover set was available for the Fleetwood line, but some customers bought them for their Deville series. The car pictures posted are 1977 & 1978 models that show off the color of the paint. It's a great color, vibrant and warm.....it looks like a Hershey Bar color in the sunlight. NOTE: Some pics show one wheel cover in sunlight and the rest in the shade, and makes the "sunlight" color difference more obvious. Rest assured, they are all the same color. There are 4 close-up pics (1 for each wheel cover) in the photo section that are taken in the same light...they all match. ITEM QUANTITY: This listing is for FOUR (4) wheel covers, in Grade "A" condition . ITEM DESCRIPTION : This wheel cover set (4) is Time Machine material. These were bought from a Cadillac dealership in 1979 (see receipt) by Allstate Insurance Corporation, as a claim replacement for a customer that had his stolen. The owner received them, but had already gotten a different set in the interim time, so these sat on a shelf for 40+ years. According to the son of the former owner, these boxed brown ones were pulled out on occasion (car shows, rallys, etc.) and put on the car, but were not used daily. So there is almost no road usage on them and it shows. They are "Almost NOS" in quality. They all look excellent in every way, as if you jumped back in time to purchase them. I've graded them at "A" level condition - you can't get better for a seldom used wheel cover. There are no dents, no dings, no curb rash, no stains, etc. They all have a very bright shine to the stainless as you can see (this usually dulls and grays over time). The "Sabre Wheel" design hearkens back to the late 1950's, when Cadillac offered the famed chrome Sabre Wheels on the 1955-58 Eldorado & Fleetwood. The Dark Demitasse Brown wheel center has no nicks or chips in the paint. The decal is adhered strongly, no warping or peeling at the outer edges. Great factory shine to the clear coating! There is no fade in the Brown coloring. The chrome on the wreath is very shiny and free of pitting. Overall they are stunners and in Show Quality condition. How rare are these gorgeous wheel covers?? It took me a while to search online and find a few pictures of 1977/78 Fleetwoods with them on. The reason for that is obvious -- The infamous wire wheel covers had recently come out and EVERYBODY wanted them. Sales were insane for customers "upgrading" from the factory wheel covers into the wire ones (Big $$$$$ add-on for dealers!). Dealers usually kept the factory ones and they disappeared with time. The Demitasse Brown decals are all adhered strongly, no bubbling or warping. There is no fade in the coloring, which shows that this set was stored indoors (away from sunlight) for many many years. For being made almost 48 years ago (Summer of 1976) this set has survived quite well. They will certainly enhance any 1970's Cadillac (non-Eldorado) that is lucky enough to have DARK BROWN paint. Each of the wheel covers was test mounted on a RWD Cadillac 15" rim and fit decently. All of my wheel covers have been professionally cleaned to remove tar, oils, road grime, brake dust, etc..... Dirty and stinky wheel covers will NOT be coming your way! Mounting tabs are also neutral adjusted as well. Items will be shipped via Insured US Priority Mail. K eep your expectations realistic, this is a set of 40-50 year old wheel covers with very light use characteristics. NOTE: These are old-school wheel covers! You may have to bend some of the retaining tabs to get it to fit perfect on your steel wheels....especially if you have balancing weights. Use a rubber mallet to install them and thus avoiding hammer dents. Caddypartz~~ The #1 eBay source for 1971-78 Cadillac parts~! 1977-78 Fleetwood DEMITASSE BROWN Set of 4 Grade "A" / Nearly NOS PP
