Grade B levels = Driver Grade Pretty Good (B++), Driver Grade Good Shape (B+), Average Condition (B), Fair/Poor but Usable Condition (B-, C+, C). All "B" & "C" Grades will have more visible damage than any "A" Grade. Ratings are based on the physical condition of the metal and the overall perceptive appearance, not paint (if applicable). This auction item is highlighted in BLUE on this scale. ORIGINAL YEAR OF USE : 1972-1973 Eldorado. This Wheel Cover is from a 1973 Eldorado - it has the closed rear slot at the base of the horizontal vanes. CONDITION RATING : This auction is for a single (ONE) wheel cover in Grade "A-" condition , per the ranking scale listed above. This quality range is considered "VERY GOOD". ITEM DESCRIPTION : VERY GOOD CONDITION wheel covers have strong visual appeal with very minor flaws. The Outer Rim is in Very Good Condition, with just a few random hammer nicks on the right half. There isn't any curb rashing on the Outer Perimeter Rim. The spokes/vanes are Excellent -- nice and straight, with good paint retention. The Center Face (what you mostly see) is Very Good. No major creases or curb rashing, etc. -- just a few (stone?) nicks outside of the Crest area. By they way, the embossed large Crest is very bold indeed! The Outer Crown Edge (outside of the Face) is also in Very Good Condition - No stone nicks! It has a few scratch lines at the very top, barely visible. GREAT shine. Overall this wheel cover is very presentable and earns the "Very Good Condition" rating (not the same as "Excellent"). NOTE : The 1972-73 Eldorado wheel covers tend to get "pancaked" - flattened so that the thin metal risers that hold the vane "tiers" are flattened down. This will make a good fit difficult.....Sometimes you can hear the metal center "rattle" against the rim while driving. The height on this wheel cover is proper per original - it's does not have any flattened zones. CADDYPARTZ EXTRAS : The wheel cover was test mounted on an Eldorado rim and fit decently. All of my wheel covers have been professionally cleaned to remove tar, oils, road grime, brake dust, etc..... A dirty and stinky wheel cover will NOT be coming your way! Mounting tabs are also neutral adjusted as well (Sometimes a few are missing since mechanics removed them to get around the wheel weights. This wheel cover has about 6 missing). K eep your expectations realistic, this is a 50 year old wheel cover with medium use characteristics. See my other listings for more individual 1967-78 Eldorado wheel covers. ** The 1967-78 Eldorado wheel covers are unique in the car world.....they are designed to fit over the wheel rim that has a huge offset due to the front wheel drive design. Therefore NO other front or rear wheel drive hubcaps will ever work on the Eldo...just the original factory ones.** NOTE2: This is an old-school wheel cover! You may have to bend some of the retaining tabs to get it to fit perfect on your steel wheels....especially if you have balancing weights. This wheel cover will fit any 1971-78 Eldorado with the stock factory 15" steel rims. Cadillac never offered anything else but that rim back in the day.
