Description

This is a factory original Delco console mounted 8 track player that is a factory option for 1970-1977 Pontiac Firebirds. This particular player is out of a 1977 Firebird. The model number is 62FT41. I believe this style player is known at the Delco model T400. This style player was used on other Pontiacs, Buicks, Oldsmobiles, and Cadillacs with some trim differences, etc. These true Firebird console mounted 8 track players are quite rare and extremely hard to find. Don't miss this very nice example. This factory 8 track player is the real deal and is in awesome condition. It looks to have been taken out of a car early in its life and properly stored for decades. The chrome on the 8 track door and program button is very nice as shown. I see no breaks, repairs or modifications to this unit. The wiring connector is intact with no breaks or splices. This radio is simply an awesome 8 track player that has survived the test of time. This 8 track player plays loud and both audio channels. The play speed is faster that it should be. I imagine there is an adjustment for this and the belt should also be replaced since it is likely the original. This player should be serviced before installation to ensure trouble free use. The fact that the tape still plays and both audio channels play loud and clear tells me this should be a straight forward unit to service. I made a video of this radio being tested.
